Senior Principal Specialist, Synapxe

Goh Han Leong

Senior Principal Specialist, Synapxe

Dr. Goh Han Leong is the Senior Principal Specialist at Synapxe, Singapore’s national HealthTech agency, where he leads the development of AI and data analytics solutions to enhance healthcare management and outcomes.

He guides stakeholders on advancing AI adoption in healthcare and has led impactful projects, including using machine learning to predict hospital readmissions and applying deep learning on chest X-rays to detect severe pneumonia and COVID-19 infections. For his contributions during the pandemic, he received the National Commendation Medal (COVID-19) in 2022.

With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Goh is an accomplished data scientist and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore, where he teaches “Healthcare Transformation with Analytics” in the Master of Science in Business Analytics programme.

Previously, he worked at Singtel’s Living Analytics R&D Lab, applying big data insights to client projects, and at the Land Transport Authority, providing technology leadership for mobility solutions. Beyond his professional roles, Dr. Goh contributes to shaping industry standards as a member of the Singapore Standards Council’s Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence and serves on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Computer Society’s AI & Robotics Chapter.

He holds a Doctorate and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from NUS.

Chung Suhwan

Associate Director, Healthcare & Life Science, Digital, Data and AI, KPMG

Suhwan is a passionate and forward-thinking professional dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare and life sciences through the strategic use of digital, data, and AI.

With a unique blend of data science expertise, commercial leadership, and consulting experience across financial services and MedTech, he brings both technical depth and business acumen to every initiative. Suhwan has built and deployed advanced analytics and quantitative risk models and is adept at managing global teams and senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. His focus lies in developing AI-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency and uncover market opportunities in healthcare and life sciences.
His recent roles span leading data science initiatives at Becton Dickinson, driving digital transformation at GE Healthcare, and advising global MedTech and Pharma clients at KPMG.

Suhwan’s experience also includes building robust risk models at UBS and delivering consultative sales strategies at Johnson & Johnson. Always open to new opportunities, Suhwan continues to explore ways to drive meaningful transformation across industries.

Tan Boon Leong

VP/Head DeepBrain (Data Science & Information), ST Engineering

Boon Leong is the Vice President and Head of the DeepBrain Centre of Excellence at ST Engineering Mission Software & Services.

A seasoned professional in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI), he brings over 15 years of experience in leading and managing DSAI and Software Engineering teams. Boon Leong is deeply committed to harnessing the power of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI technologies to create value, address complex challenges and cultivate a data-driven culture.

In his current role, he oversees the development of DSAI capabilities, the delivery of AI products, and the implementation of Responsible AI practices across the organisation.
