NUS MSBA Honoured as a Finalist for 2024 UPS George D. Smith Prize

The NUS Master of Science in Business Analytics (NUS MSBA) programme has been honoured as a finalist for the prestigious 2024 UPS George D. Smith Prize by INFORMS. This accolade celebrates our programme’s pioneering approach in equipping students with the skills needed for excellence in operations research, management science, and analytics.

The UPS George D. Smith Prize honours the legacy of the late UPS Chief Executive Officer George D. Smith, a fervent advocate of operations research. Established to foster stronger connections between academia and industry, this award is presented to academic programmes demonstrating exceptional and innovative preparation of students for impactful careers in operations research, analytics, and data science.

Emerging as a top contender after two rigorous selection phases, NUS MSBA is the sole finalist from a single programme, joining the other two finalists from the University of South Carolina’s Management Science Department and the University of Waterloo’s Department of Management Science and Engineering.

As one of the 2024 UPS George D. Smith Prize finalists, Associate Professor James Pang, Co-director of NUS Business Analytics Centre, represented the NUS MSBA programme by giving a live presentation at the 2024 INFORMS Business Analytics Conference in Orlando.
