Two deputy directors for the NUS Business Analytics Centre were appointed, effective as of 1st November 2019.
They are:
Professor Huang Zhiyong
Zhiyong is Associate Professor (Practice) of Computer Science Department, Assistant Dean (Industry Relations) and Director of C-TReND for computing translational research and development, School of Computing. He teaches modules in 3D modelling and animation and programming methodology. His research area is computer graphics and human computer/robot interface. He had been working as a Senior Scientist in Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR since 2007, where he had served various roles including Senior Manager, Strategic Capability Development and Industry Development, Co-Principal Investigator, SERC Industrial Robotics Programme, Department Head, Computer Graphics and Interface, and Programme Manager of SERC Human Factor Engineering. Zhiyong is a Senior Member of ACM and IEEE, and a Pioneer Member of ACM SIGGRAPH and Chair of Singapore ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter.
He received the Tsinghua 12.9 Distinguished Young Teacher Award, 1989, achieved bronze in the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1992 and was a finalist at the World Technology Summit & Awards (Entertainment), 2010.
His current projects include A Blockchain-based Asset Tracking and Rights Management System for Additive Manufacturing Production Workflow and Deep Learning for Recommendation System.

Mr. Quek Khor Ping
Khor Ping joined the NUS Business Analytics Centre in 2018 as a Visiting Senior Fellow of the NUS Business School. He is also a member of the advisory committee of the School of Business in Temasek Polytechnic and a Non-Executive Director of Slate Alt, a deep tech crowdfunding capital platform. His current research interest is in the unstructured data analysis and the application of assistive technology in helping physically challenged individuals.
Prior to the current appointments, Khor Ping had held numerous leadership positions in technical, consulting, marketing and sales over decades of career in the Industry. He was the Director of IBM University Program managing relationship with the tertiary institutes, Director of IBM Watson Competency Centre responsible for the implementation of the AI technology solutions in Asia, and the Lab Director of IBM Cloud Lab responsible for the proof-of-concept, technical enablement and the support of developers in the development of SaaS running on IBM cloud.
Khor Ping’s other professional experience includes Marketing Director of IBM Singapore, Global Leader of IBM Software Industrial Solutions, Business Unit Executive responsible for IBM Global Microelectronics Services as well as a consultant in the IBM Asia Pacific Manufacturing Supply Chain practice. He is also an IBM Certified Professional and had received numerous awards and recognitions for his contributions to the business and technical successes of the company.
Khor Ping’s international experience includes assignments in the US as the IBM Global Executive responsible for the worldwide services offerings development and in China as the Asia Pacific Regional Executive responsible for the Industrial Segment business development.
Khor Ping is active in the professional and charity communities. He was the President of Singapore Industry Automation Association and a Director in the Institute of Industrial Engineers of Singapore. He was the Chairman for the National Automation Survey supported by Singapore’s Economic Development Board and has served as an IT advisor to Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Khor Ping is one of the founding members of ABLE, a non-profit charity organization for the physically challenged community in Singapore. He served as the Chairman for the ‘Centre for the Physically Challenged’ and ‘Agape Respite Centre’.
