The NUS Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) attracts individuals from across the world who share a common passion — leveraging data to solve complex problems and create meaningful impact.

This year’s incoming cohort reflects the programme’s diversity, global reach, and commitment to excellence, attracting brilliant students who are drawn to its  strong industry connections, rigorous multi-disciplinary curriculum, and real-world learning opportunities.

Let’s meet some of them!

Justyna (Poland): A Career Reimagined Through Data

With a strong foundation in Economics and Management from top universities in Poland, Justyna has spent the past five years building her career, including over three years at a leading global financial institution. There, she managed project financials, led automation efforts, and facilitated cross-functional reporting.

After a few years of break, she’s ready for a bold transition with NUS MSBA. Justyna looks forward to meeting classmates from around the world and building lasting friendships, learning more about different cultures and being a part of the diverse NUS MSBA community.

Justyna also brings a deep commitment to community. As a volunteer leader, she has designed educational programmes supporting underprivileged youth and was recently featured in Singapore’s National Day Campaign for her contributions to racial harmony.

Sandra (Singapore): Driving Public Sector Innovation

After 15 years in the public sector, including the Department of Statistics and her current secondment to A*STAR, Sandra understands the importance of innovation in public policy. With Singapore advancing its Smart Nation agenda, she felt it was time to upskill.

Despite her years of experience, Sandra recognises the importance of staying current in an evolving field. She looks forward to having a rich exchange of ideas between professionals from both the public and private sectors. Sandra is also excited to learn from the diverse perspectives and experiences that international students bring, which she believes will broaden her understanding and inspire new approaches.

Sandra is passionate not just about work, but also about giving back. She actively supports organisations like WWF, the Singapore Heart Foundation and World Vision, and finds inspiration in real-world experiences — such as her recent visit to Yangon, which deepened her resolve to support vulnerable communities.

Nourah (Saudi Arabia): Leading Digital Transformation with Vision

Nourah brings with her years of experience at Aramco, where she supports downstream strategy to diversify and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s energy future. With the country pushing forward under Vision 2030, she sees analytics as the key to transformation.

She decided to join the NUS MSBA as she felt that it is the perfect match for her goal of driving digital innovation aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. Additionally, Singapore’s rich cultural and socioeconomic diversity will provide unique insights into leadership challenges, expanding her corporate leadership toolkit.

Her international outlook, sharpened by childhood years in Tokyo, helps her navigate cross-cultural environments with ease. Nourah is also an advocate of peer mentorship and enjoys Pilates and journaling through her notebook collection — always learning, always growing.

Pranay (India): Merging Finance and Analytics

Educated in the Philippines and the U.S., with experience in financial operations in both Bangalore and Manila, Pranay is no stranger to navigating global work environments. He recently completed a Master’s in Financial Management and is now ready to deepen his technical skills in analytics.

Pranay chose the NUS MSBA programme because of its global reputation, strong focus on technical and analytical skills, and the opportunity to learn from a highly skilled faculty. He is looking forward to building meaningful connections with peers and faculty, and immersing himself in Singapore’s dynamic and multicultural environment.

Pranay’s recent participation in the CFA Institute Research Challenge honed his skills in equity research and investment analysis. Outside of work, he stays active through sports — believing that a well-balanced lifestyle is key to professional success.

Yoon (South Korea): From Interpretation to Innovation

Yoon Choi brings a unique blend of technical and linguistic expertise. With degrees in Environmental Engineering (Georgia Tech) and Conference Interpretation (Hankuk University), she has worked as a professional interpreter in the automotive and IT industries for over six years.

Yoon’s interest in data and its power to drive decision-making has grown steadily through her work. The NUS MSBA’s interdisciplinary approach and job-readiness focus make it the perfect bridge into the next phase of her career.

Outside of academics, Yoon really enjoy playing tennis and singing, two activities that recharge her both mentally and physically. Tennis helps Yoon to stay focused and resilient, while singing gives her the emotional energy and confidence to take on new challenges. Taking care of her well-being in this way has helped her grow with intention, both personally and professionally.

Melissa (China): A Creative Mind with an Analytical Edge

Melissa describes herself as a “city girl” who grew up in Shanghai and studied Economics at the University of Toronto. With internships including a business strategy role at TikTok, she combines analytical thinking with creative storytelling. The NUS MSBA’s practical curriculum, flexible verticals, and strong industry network makes it her ideal next step.

Melissa looks forward to communicating and working with my classmates on class projects. She has already met the diverse cohort through the bootcamp classes, interacting with fellow students from China, South Africa, South Korea, etc. More importantly, she can also learn from part-time students who already have experience in various industries.

Melissa is also a beatmaker and independent musician. Her music reflects her personal growth, something even her former mentors at TikTok appreciated and brought her to a club for the first time to celebrate a track she wrote for her mentors.

Zoe (Indonesia): Making Data Work for the Real World

With a degree in Data Science, Zoe is now eager to apply his knowledge in industry settings. He joined NUS MSBA for its strong emphasis on real-world learning and industry collaboration.

What drew Zoe in is the hands-on nature of the programme, where theory meets practice. He looks forward to developing his soft skills such as data storytelling and communication, as these skills are key to becoming a data-savvy leader in any industry.

Zoe is particularly interested in developing his soft skills and communication abilities, which he sees as critical for success in any field. A travel enthusiast, he has explored much of China and is currently building a full-stack app to sharpen his MLOps skills.

These are just a few of the outstanding individuals who make up the NUS MSBA Class of 2025. As they embark on their journey, they bring with them not just talent, but vision, passion, and purpose.

Together, they form a community that reflects the very best of what the NUS MSBA stands for — excellence, diversity, and meaningful impact through data.
