Harsh Sharma is a Data Scientist at Munich Re in Singapore, where he builds generative AI and automation solutions used by underwriting teams across the Asia-Pacific region.
Harsh’s own path ran through NUS. After completing a B.Tech. in Computer Science from VIT, he pursued an M.Sc. in Business Analytics at NUS before joining Munich Re. Prior to that, he gained experience in AI research at Cognidex and data engineering at Eli Lilly. This combination gives him a practical, first-hand perspective on the transition from academic projects to production-grade AI systems in industry.
Outside his day-to-day work, Harsh remains actively involved in the AI community. Most recently, he was part of the winning team at the Mistral AI Worldwide Hackathon, where they built a self-evolving
tool registry for AI agents. He was also a recipient of NUS’s Capstone Award for his contributions to
Munich Re’s digital underwriting platform. He enjoys mentoring students on breaking into data science
and generative AI roles, navigating the transition from coursework to real-world systems, and identifying side projects that help sharpen both skills and curiosity.
