Analytics Centre (BAC)

Established in 2013, the Business Analytics Centre (BAC) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is a result of a collaborative effort between NUS and IBM. The Centre is the operational hub for the acclaimed NUS Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) programme, seamlessly blending academic rigor with industrial prowess.

As an analytics hub at NUS, BAC leverages the strengths of both the NUS Business School and NUS Computing. Our programme benefits from NUS’s academic excellence and IBM’s industrial insights, ensuring a curriculum that integrates theory with real-world application. Over the past decade, BAC has established a robust industry network with over 100 partners, including leading multinational corporations like Accenture, Alibaba, Amazon, AXA, DBS, Ernst & Young, Google, Huawei, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Morgan Stanley, SAP, State Street, Swiss Re, and dynamic unicorn startups such as Ant Financial, Grab, Shopee, TigerGraph, and TikTok.

These collaborations extend into educational initiatives and translational research, enhancing the practical learning experience for students. Remarkably, over 1000 real-world industrial analytics and operations research (OR) projects have been successfully completed by NUS MSBA students in partnership with these corporations in the past 10 years. Furthermore, BAC has cultivated an engaging alumni community of MSBA graduates, who continue to contribute to and enrich the business analytics landscape at NUS.

NUS Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA)

Co-designed by two of NUS’s top-ranked schools, NUS Business School and NUS Computing, the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) programme at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is an innovative and interdisciplinary programme offered through the Business Analytics Centre (BAC). The NUS MSBA programme prepares future leaders proficient in data science and business analytics to navigate the complexities of digital transformation across various sectors.

The NUS MSBA offers both full-time and part-time options to cater to the diverse needs of students. Full-time students can complete the programme in approximately 14 months, with a maximum duration of 2 academic years. Part-time students can expect to complete the programme in approximately 26 months, with a maximum duration of 4 academic years.

Our vision is to equip students with the technical and analytical skills needed to excel in the rapidly growing field of business analytics. Ranked as Asia No. 1 and Top 10 worldwide in the 2024 QS Business Masters Rankings in Business Analytics, our curriculum blends rigorous academic theory with practical, hands-on learning. This ensures that graduates are ready to tackle real-world challenges in industries such as finance, information technology, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and more.

In the decade since its inception, the NUS MSBA has proudly graduated about 900 alumni who continue to contribute to and enrich the business analytics landscape globally.
